  • Olives carefully selected from Beira Baixa, Beira Alta and Trás-os-Montes

  • Natural methods and traditional processes, preserving the juice of the olives

The Process

Olives are harvested from traditional groves at peak ripeness and cold-pressed below 27°C to preserve their natural flavors, nutrients, and antioxidants. This careful process results in an extra virgin olive oil with low acidity, ensuring the highest quality. We blend olives from traditional Portuguese varieties such as Galega, Cobrançosa, Arbequina, and Picual, creating a balanced, flavorful oil that captures the essence of Portugal’s unique terroir.

Discover the Portuguese (Golden) Diet.

For centuries, olive oil has been a cornerstone of the Portuguese diet, essential to traditional cuisine and deeply woven into our cultural identity. Portuguese cooking celebrates simplicity, relying on high-quality ingredients.

Influences from the Atlantic’s seafood, Mediterranean staples like bread and wine, citrus fruits, and olive oil makes the perfect combination for a delicious cuisine.

A testament to our rich agricultural heritage.

Introduced to Portugal around the 1st century BC, the olive tree adapted to the country’s rocky soils and dry conditions, becoming a mainstay of Portuguese agriculture. Over the centuries, this deep-rooted history has shaped the diverse olive oils produced in different regions of Portugal. From the smooth, fruity oils of Alentejo to the more pungent, spicy varieties of Trás-os-Montes, each region offers a unique expression of olive oil, influenced by its climate, soil, and local olive varieties.

Portugal is home to indigenous olive varieties like Galega, Cobrançosa, Arbequina, and Picual, which contribute to the diversity of Portuguese olive oils. These olives thrive in different regions, with Galega offering a sweet, nutty flavor from the south and Cobrançosa producing a more robust, bitter taste from the north. Arbequina, a Mediterranean variety, adds softer, fruitier notes.
